Ohio Means Jobs Lucas County — formerly known as The Source of Northwest Ohio — will host a small job fair and educational program Friday aimed at giving prospective job seekers insight into several high-demand careers.

The organization is partnering with Owens Community College Learning Center for the informational event. Officials say they’ll focus on careers including welding, office services, health care, and personal transportation. The event is free and pre-registration is not required. Sessions begin at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Friday is also the center’s “Get-a-Job Friday” mini job fair. More than 15 employers are expected, hiring for warehouse positions, cleaning, general labor, carpenters, painters, support living coordinators, direct care support staff, taxi and other drivers, and more. The jobs office is at 1301 Monroe St.
