Hampton Inn on Secor slated to open July 2

A Hampton Inn & Suites being built on Secor Road will be completed late next month and plans to open on July 2, said developer Steve Roumaya of Key Hotel, the owner and developer. The 18,600-square-foot hotel is on the site of a former Showcase Cinemas complex.

The 108-room Hampton Inn is one of two hotels planned as part of a $25 million redevelopment of the 13-acre property at 3500 Secor Rd. Key Hotel has said it also plans to start construction this year on a 92-room Holiday Inn Express.

The development is also expected to include restaurants and retail stores, but details have not been announced.
