The base rate that Ohio's private employers pay for workers’ compensation will decrease 6.3 percent on July 1, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation said Thursday.
The base rate decreased 4 percent in 2011, did not change in 2012, and fell 2.1 percent last year.
The actual premium paid by individual private employers depends on a number of factors, including the expected future costs in their industry segment, their recent claims history, and their participation in various discount and savings programs.
