Columbia Gas of Ohio Inc. said Friday that its July rate for its residential natural gas customers will be 58 cents per hundred cubic feet.
The rate is based on a recent closing price of 44 cents per hundred cubic feet on the New York Mercantile Exchange, and 14 cents for a state approved service fee. With the new rate, the gas utility said the average consumer bill in June will be $35.88.
Last July, the rate was 50 cents per ccf and the average bill was $32. The rate for June is 60 cents per ccf and the average June bill was expected to be $40.93.
