COLUMBUS — Ohio motorists will find lower gas prices to start the work week.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.40 in today‘‍s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s a dime lower than a week ago, and 7 cents less than this time last month.

Today’‍s national average was $3.45, which is 3 cents lower than a week ago, and 14 cents lower a month ago.

Analysts say prices should stay lower during August as long as refinery production remains strong and oil prices don’t rise due to unexpected issues.

The lowest average price in the state today was $3.29 in Toledo.
