Top Workplaces 2019 contest extends its deadline

    • If you haven’t nominated your workplace for The Blade’s 2019 Top Workplaces, there’s still time left.

    The initial deadline for The Blade and Energage’s nomination process was Friday, but the deadline to submit companies for the annual contest now has been extended to Sept. 14. Employees interested in nominating their workplace can call 419-617-0606 or visit https://topworkplaces.com/nominate/toledoblade.

    This program will recognize employers with healthy workplace cultures and employee engagement. In order to participate in the contest, companies must agree to first being surveyed.

    “Top Workplaces rewards employers that work hard to build a healthy workplace culture,” Energage Media Partnerships Director Bob Helbig said. “It’s good for morale, and it’s good for business.”

    Companies with 35 or more employees in the Toledo area are eligible to participate in the contest. This includes public, private, non-profit and government organizations.

    Organizations will be divided into three categories depending on their sizes: small businesses of 35 to 74 employees, midsize companies of 75 to 299 employees, and large companies of 300 or more employees.

    The workplaces will be evaluated by their employees through a 24-question survey. Participating companies will be surveyed through next month.

    The winners for Top Workplaces 2019 will be revealed in January. Right now, 50 companies have signed up to take the survey. 

    Last year’s program invited 592 companies, of which 72 were surveyed and 40 were recognized for their exceptional culture.
