Plan to reuse land at bridge to be viewed

11/2/2000

Plans for reusing land to be vacated when I-280 soars over the Maumee River on a new bridge will be the subject tonight at the last of a series of bridge-related public meetings state and local officials will conduct.

Using ideas offered during meetings in June and August, Ohio Department of Transportation consultants have drafted a plan that will be presented to the public during the meeting in the Oregon Room at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, 2600 Navarre Ave.

The session is to begin at 6:30 p.m. and last 90 minutes.

The bridge's design and other details of the $200 million I-280 project were the subjects of earlier rounds of meetings held by ODOT and the Maumee River Crossing Task Force.

Construction is scheduled to begin next year and be completed by 2005.
