The Ohio Department of Transporation is seeking public comment for an environmental study on plans to repave U.S. 24 east of Waterville and add turn lanes.

ODOT proposes to spend $1.4 million to repave U.S. 24 between Dutch Road in Waterville Township and Monclova Road in Maumee and build or extend turn lanes at three intersections next year.

An eastbound left-turn lane and westbound right-turn lane are proposed at Waterville-Monclova Road in Waterville, a westbound right-turn lane is proposed at Dutch in Waterville Township, and the westbound right-turn lane at Canal Road in Waterville is proposed to be lengthened.

“These improvements are being planned as part of ODOT's on-going effort to increase motorist safety on U.S. 24,” Richard Martinko, the department's deputy director in Bowling Green, said. He said the project is not related to the study of a possible relocation or major widening of U.S. 24 between Maumee and Napoleon.

Public questions or comments may be submitted to ODOT's Bowling Green office, 317 East Poe Rd., until Nov. 28.
