Findlay bridges 7-month gap

12/2/2000

FINDLAY - With expressions of relief, Mayor John Stozich and a small parade of city and county officials took the ceremonial first walk across the new Main Street bridge yesterday.

The bridge, which was projected to ready by September, was opened to traffic for the first time since May after the 5 p.m. ceremony. The contractor hit a number of snags during the $1.4 million project, which caused a nearly three-month delay.

The closure of the heavily traveled span across the Blanchard River caused headaches to motorists and business owners.
