Crash victim is a Sandusky man

SANDUSKY - More than a month after his death in a fiery car crash just south of here, authorities have identified the victim as a Sandusky man.

Dr. Paul F. Ernst, a coroner's investigator for Erie County, said the Lucas County coroner's office used DNA testing to identify Ronald Neidler, 44.

Mr. Neidler was killed Oct. 26 when his vehicle hit a bridge and caught fire on Old Railroad Road. Dr. Ernst said his body was burned beyond recognition, and a check of dental records yielded nothing that could be used to identify the man.
