LIMA, Ohio - Three men were hurt, one seriously, in a two-vehicle head-on collision yesterday on icy I-75 in Allen County's Perry Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The accident closed southbound I-75 for almost two hours, troopers at the patrol's Lima post said.

Erik Marshall, 32, of Dayton, was in critical condition last night in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

Richard G. Kaczmarek III, 30, of Springfield, Ohio, and Jose H. Dominguez, 36, of Farmers Branch, Texas, were treated in Lima Memorial Hospital, troopers said.

Mr. Marshall, who was driving a van, and Mr. Kaczmarek, who was sitting in the van's front passenger seat, were northbound on the interstate about 9:40 a.m.

The vehicle went out of control, crossed the median, and went into the southbound lanes.

It collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Mr. Dominguez, who was hauling 40,000 pounds of ketchup, troopers said.
