B.G. planners reconsider apartment complex plan

1/5/2001

BOWLING GREEN - The city planning commission will take another look at plans for a 120-unit apartment complex after initially rejecting the project last month.

The commission decided by a 6-2 vote Wednesday to reconsider at a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Jan. 17 the request by the Dinerstein Cos. of Houston, Texas to build the 12-acre complex at Klotz and Na|po|leon roads.

Dr. Eric Myers, chairman of the commission, said he expects the board to first meet with city at|torney Mike Marsh in executive session before taking a new vote. Mr. Marsh and others have ad|vised city officials that the proj|ect meets zoning and other city requirements and therefore cannot legally be rejected.

The commission heard several hours of testimony from concerned neighbors before voting 5-4 against the project Dec. 11. City council subsequently sent the issue back to the board for reconsideration
