GREEN SPRINGS, Ohio - Four Crawford County high school students were hurt yesterday in an accident involving two school buses on State Rt. 19 in Seneca County's Adams Township, authorities said.

The students, who were part of a group traveling to a choir competition in Oak Harbor, were treated at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin. Their names were not released.

The buses were westbound on Route 19 about 4:30 p.m. when the driver of the first bus stopped at a stop sign at State Rt. 778.

The driver then pulled forward a few yards to get a clear view of the intersection and stopped again. At that moment, the second bus, which was directly behind, struck the first bus in the rear as the driver of the second bus briefly glanced away, Seneca County sheriff's deputies said.

The drivers' names were not released. The accident remains under investigation.
