Salvation Army offers assistance with gas charges

4/3/2001

The Salvation Army will take applications from Columbia Gas customers who could be eligible for up to $250 in emergency assistance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Zablocki Senior Center, 3015 Lagrange St.

The agency is administering emergency assistance money that was released earlier this year for customers whose incomes are usually too high to meet the income requirements for other kinds of energy assistance.

The household income of customers must be between 151 and 250 percent above federal poverty guidelines. Customers must bring a copy of their current gas bill, identification, and proof of total household income. No appointment is necessary.
