Vehicle strikes tree near Findlay, leaving woman in serious condition

FINDLAY - A woman was seriously injured Saturday when her head struck the car's windshield during an accident in Pleasant Township, the Hancock County sheriff's office reported.

Paula Theil, 49, of Findlay was the passenger in a car driven by Jeffrey Oyler about 11:30 p.m. when it went off the road and struck a tree.

Mr. Oyler was not seriously injured. Two back-seat passengers, John Rider, 48, and Cindy Rider, 38, of McComb were treated at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay. Ms. Theil was in serious condition yesterday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

Mr. Oyler was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of his motor vehicle.
