Coroner rules on deaths of Eleanor Avenue couple

4/24/2001

The death early Sunday of Myrtle T. Kinker, 79, of 1636 Eleanor Ave., has been ruled a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds, Dr. James Patrick, Lucas County coroner, said yesterday.

She died at Toledo Hospital after what police believe was a murder-suicide at her home. Her husband, Harry H. Kinker, 81, also of the Eleanor residence, was pronounced dead at the house shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

The coroner said Mr. Kinker died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Mrs. Kinker was shot in the head, chest, and abdomen.
