RAWSON, Ohio -A 13-year-old Rawson boy was charged yesterday with making an explosive device that Hancock County sheriff's deputies recovered safely.

The boy, who was being held at the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, was charged with delinquency for possession of a dangerous ordnance.

Deputy David Spridgeon said investigators were told that the youth made the bomb at home and intended to detonate it in a mailbox near Rawson. Working on information from another 13-year-old on where the bomb was being stored, deputies found that it hadn't detonated, he said.
