Nursing home ex-orderly is suspect in death case

4/27/2001

FINDLAY - Authorities in four northwest Ohio counties are looking into allegations that a former nursing home orderly was responsible for the death of at least one patient.

Findlay police Lt. Chuck Wilson said the suspect was an orderly at nursing homes in the city in 1997 and 1998 and could have been involved in an incident in which someone attempted to harm a resident.

Involved in the probe are investigators in Seneca, Crawford, and Hardin counties, including the Kenton police who are investigating a suspicious death at a Hardin County nursing home in 1998.

Lieutenant Wilson said the suspect is in jail for passing bad checks and has not been charged in connection with any of the nursing home incidents.
