Commissioners agree to aid dog adoption plan

1/10/2013

An agreement under which the Lucas County dog warden will send adoptable dogs to the Toledo Humane Society was approved yesterday by the county commissioners.

Dog warden Tom Skeldon said the program has been under way for about six weeks, and he has sent 77 dogs to the society.

He said his office will continue to have dogs for adoption, and conditions there will have some effect on how many dogs he sends to the society for adoption.

The commissioners agreed to pay veterinary fees so each dog is spayed or neutered before adoption.
