SANDUSKY - The retrial of Perkins Township police Chief Tom McClung, who is facing charges of theft in office, went to jury yesterday. No verdict was reached.

The panel retired a little after 7 last night, and will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Chief McClung is being tried on 42 counts of theft in office, money laundering, tampering with evidence, and forgery. He was acquitted of two charges of theft in office following a trial in March, but the jury deadlocked on 38 other counts.

Chief McClung is being retried on those 38 counts and four additional felony charges for allegedly stealing money from the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association.
