Checkpoint for drivers results in 4 arrests

Four arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs were made late Saturday night or early yesterday morning at a sobriety checkpoint set up by the Maumee police division in the 1200 block of Conant Street.

Additionally, four citations were issued for having an open alcohol container in the vehicle, and one for underage possession of alcohol.

A total of 427 vehicles passed through the checkpoint from 10 p.m. Saturday to 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
