Miss America honors local gymnastic champs

Angela Perez Baraquio, Miss America 2001, awards the first-place junior vault medal to Stephanie San Agustin at the YMCA National Women's Gymnastics Championships, held at SeaGate Centre in Toledo.

Miss Baraquio, who teaches elementary school, is on a national speaking tour titled `Character in the Classroom: Teaching Values, Valuing Teachers.'

More than 1,300 gymnasts ages 7 to 18, including 276 from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, competed in the championships over the weekend.
