Port Clinton cuts 2 jobs to save $103,000 a year

PORT CLINTON - The city's safety-service director has eliminated two jobs and shifted their duties to other departments in moves designed to save $103,000 a year.

The cuts, which became effective last week, allow the city to use the money for street, sewer, and general city repairs, Safety-Service Director Dan Bryan said.

The eliminated positions are administrative assistant-safety officer and wastewater treatment plant assistant chief operating engineer.

Mr. Bryan said the city is looking at retirements and attrition to help save other money for the 20-year replacement program.
