Man who set self on fire on turnpike dies of burns

WOODVILLE - A man who poured gasoline on himself and set himself afire at an Ohio Turnpike service plaza died Monday night in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, troopers at the Swanton post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Donald Shattuck, 53, of North Revere, Mass., died shortly after 8 p.m. He suffered burns over 75 percent of his body.

The highway patrol said Mr. Shattuck bought five gallons of gas that he put into a container about 1:30 p.m. Sunday and went to the rear of the Blue Heron Service Plaza in Woodville Township, where he set himself on fire.
