Sandusky County crash injures Castalia teenager

CASTALIA, Ohio - An Erie County teenager was seriously injured when he lost control of his car while rounding a curve on U.S. 6 in Sandusky County's Townsend Township.

Philip Eckler, 16, of Castalia, was westbound on the highway Monday about 4 p.m. when his car went off the road and struck a tree. The car plunged into a ditch and rolled on its side. The teenager was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was in critical condition yesterday.
