Sandusky County treasurer passes unexpected audit

7/13/2001

FREMONT - The state auditor's office conducted a surprise inspection of the troubled Sandusky County treasurer's office yesterday but found no major problems.

Kimberly Norris, a spokeswoman for the state auditor, said the surprise inspection was performed as a follow-up to last year's special audit, which was ordered when the county reported $1,000 missing on Feb. 24, 2000.

Yesterday, inspectors found no missing money or major problems.

Ms. Norris said Sandusky County Treasurer Anna Senior has complied with most of the procedural recommendations made by the state after last year's special audit. Only a few minor suggestions have not been implemented.

Tiffin lawyer Dean Henry has been appointed as a special prosecutor to investigate the case, which is still pending.
