BOWLING GREEN - A popular North Main Street bowling alley that was destroyed by an electrical fire Dec. 12 will reopen in the same spot next month.

Construction is winding up on a new $2 million Al-Mar Lanes that will feature a laser light show, glow-in-the-dark Kosmic Bowling, sound system, a sports bar, and automatic scoring. Al-Mar is planning special events for its grand reopening, which will run from Aug. 9 to Sept. 16.

Before the fire, the bowling alley was used for Bowling Green State University physical education classes and for practice and competition by the Bowling Green High School bowling team.
