Red Cross gives hot-weather tips

8/3/2001

The Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross has begun offering the Heat Relief Hotline, a service designed to help people stay safe and healthy in the hot weather.

The service will offer recorded heat safety tips 24 hours a day at 248-3331, extension 342.

When the heat index reaches 95 degrees and higher Monday through Friday, a Red Cross volunteer will staff the phone line from 8:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m.
