Sandusky County OKs contract with paramedics

8/3/2001

FREMONT - The Sandusky County commissioners yesterday approved a thee-year contract with the county's emergency medical service paramedics.

The paramedics, who are represented by the Ohio Patrolman's Benevolent Association, will receive raises of 4 percent the first year and 3.5 percent in the second and third years of the agreement. The contract will cover the county's 27 paramedics and replace a pact that expired Tuesday.

The county is negotiating with unions representing employees in the sheriff's department.

Corrections officers, dispatchers, and road patrol officers, represented by the Ohio Patrolman's Benevolent Association, and command officers, represented by the Fraternal Order of Police, have been working without contracts since June 1.
