Bryan police pursue leads in June killing

BRYAN - Police are following several leads in investigating the murder of a man whose body was found June 30.

Williams County Coroner John Moats ruled this week that the death of Thomas Gordon Flint, 52, of Bryan, was a homicide.

Dr. Moats said Mr. Flint died by strangulation.

The Lucas County coroner's office also was involved in the findings that led to the homicide ruling, Bryan police Chief Greg Brillhart said. The autopsy was conducted in Lucas County.

But Williams County Prosecutor Craig Roth said law enforcement officials have pursued it as a murder case all along. “We've been treating it as a homicide for several weeks. We're working the case pretty hard,” he said.

Chief Brillhart said police are “pursuing several leads.”

Mr. Flint lived with his brother, Roy, Mr. Roth said. The body was found at another address on the same street after police responded to a 911 emergency call.

Mr. Flint, a Navy veteran who spent eight years in Vietnam, worked at Pioneer Transformer Co. in Pioneer, Ohio.

Police are seeking information about Mr. Flint's activities and whereabouts between 4 p.m. June 28 and 7 a.m. June 30.
