BOWLING GREEN - A Wood County sheriff's deputy is to be arraigned Aug. 22 on charges he peered into his neighbor's bathroom window.

William Briggs, 31, of Bloomdale was charged this week in Bowling Green Municipal Court with criminal trespassing and voyeurism. A witness said Mr. Briggs had peeped into windows before so he set up a video camera that recorded the most recent incident.

Sgt. Major Mike Blair said Deputy Briggs, who has worked as a guard at the jail since 1998, was suspended with pay when the sheriff's office learned of the investigation, but was suspended without pay when criminal charges were filed Wednesday.
