Wood County officials inspect damaged roof

8/11/2001

BOWLING GREEN - County officials, including Commissioner Alvie Perkins, were up on the courthouse roof again yesterday to inspect the cause and damage from a second leak into the building.

It was the same spot that had been patched after a July 21 flood that sent water into the courthouse when it rained hard Thursday afternoon. G.A. Frisch Inc., the roofing contractor that has been working on the building, has agreed to pay for all damages from the incidents.

Bill Lorenzen, superintendent of buildings and grounds, said that fortunately the county had not yet replaced carpet or repaired and repainted damaged walls from the first incident.

A new computer that had just been installed Monday in the third-floor court reporter's office was damaged by water in Thursday's leak.
