The Northwestern Water and Sewer District will be flushing and testing fire hydrants beginning Friday until Oct. 5.

Testing will be done between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays on hydrants in the unincorporated areas surrounding Perrysburg, east on U.S. 20 from I-75, south to Oak Meadows, and from Perrysburg Heights to the Willowbend subdivision, including all unincorporated subdivisions along State Rt. 65 on the west side of Perrysburg.

Residents may have rusty water during this period and are encouraged to run tap water prior to using water for laundry.

If rust appears on clothing, rust removal chemicals are available through the district's maintenance department, 5555 Woodville Rd., or at its office on the third floor of the county office building.
