Lima to give away land near new high school site

10/24/2001

LIMA, Ohio — City council has agreed to give the Lima city schools seven parcels the city owns in the vicinity of the new high school site.

The property will help the school district construct and develop the high school at a lower cost, city officials said. Three of the parcels were given to the schools Monday night, while the city is awaiting complete property descriptions and titles on four others. The properties are on Park Avenue and High and North streets.

A new high school is being built next to the football stadium along the Ottawa River as part of a $104 million building project, of which the state is paying $93 million.
