PEMBERVILLE — A Toledo engineering firm that has been studying flooding problems on the Portage River will discuss existing conditions on the Portage at an open house Nov. 14.
Consultants from Finkbeiner, Pettis & Strout and Oxbow River & Stream Restoration will talk about past flooding problems and potential improvements to reduce flooding and benefit water quality, and show a computer model of how floods occur on the river.
The two-year, $400,000 hy|dro|logical study began last year with a series of public meetings in which residents gave input about their experiences with flooding problems. The upcoming meeting, which is open to the public, will start at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 405 East Front St.
