Fremont firm to rebuild Perry bridge in Napoleon

12/22/2001

NAPOLEON - A Fremont firm has been awarded a state contract to overhaul the Perry Street bridge over the Maumee River.

The Mosser Construction, Inc., bid of $941,600 for the project was 7 percent higher than the project's estimated cost but was the lowest of six proposals, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.

Construction work on Perry Street, which is also State Rt. 108, will include repairs to the bridge's concrete arches, sidewalks, and parapet walls, and the roadway will be resurfaced.

The bridge will remain open to traffic during the project, which is scheduled for completion by late 2002.
