Magic for Muggles

Celebrate the Harry Potter books and movie by attending our "Magic for Muggles" show. "Sorcerer" Dennis Weigel will perform tricks and spells he learned in his first year at Hogwarts! Registration begins April 2. Children, Preschool - Grade 8 only, please. Registration required, 419-259-5370.

American Red Cross Babysitting Clinic

February 9 & 16, 9 a.m.

11 years and older.

Registration begins January 19. Babysitting Clinics will be offered by the American Red Cross and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. All participants must be 11 years of age or older. There is a $25 fee covering the course and handbook that must be paid at registration. An optional Babysitting First Aid Kit is available for an additional $15. Classes must have a minimum of 10 to be held and can have no more than 20. Students must attend all 7 1/2 hours to receive a certificate. Saturday, February 9, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Saturday, February 16, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. are considered one course.

Spread the Love: Valentine's Day Offerings

Love comes in many forms. Help us spread compassion as you write letters of appreciation and friendliness to the generations that came before you. Pen well wishings and valentines to veterans' and nursing home patients so everyone's heart is warmed.

Celtic Folklore and Storytelling

March 4, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Grades 5-8

Learn about Celtic folklore and history including the Green Man, Epona, and the Gaels. Take home Celtic designs to color and make rubber stamp designs with Celtic knot patterns and mythic figures.

Study Tips: Prepare for Now and the Future

Join us in sharing study tips for exams, presentations, and papers. What works for you? Do you have any rituals that help you get into the study "groove"? We can't guarantee you'll ace your finals but we can offer useful suggestions for making studying fun ... yes! fun! And stylize it for your learning approach.

Attorney Joanne Gall will give a talk on how to fill out the documents necessary to make an offer on a house. This is geared for the do-it-yourself seller, the first-time home buyers, or for anyone who just wants to better understand the process before having to buy and / or sell a house.

A representative from the Swan Creek Retirement Village, 5916 Cresthaven, will discuss the amenities available to adults interested in the residential, assisted living, or nursing bed units. This 34 acre facility is located along the banks of Swan Creek and has been providing comfortable living arrangements for a variety of personal needs since 1992.
