About 1,500 Toledo Edison customers lost power about 10:30 p.m. last night in the vicinity of North Ontario and Locust streets.

Jennifer Shriver, an Edison spokeswoman, said a downed power wire on Summit Street near Locust was a factor in the outage. An exact cause was undetermined.

The outage affected an irregular area along either side of Cherry Street, from Bancroft Street to the Maumee River. Power was expected to be restored late last night.
