Maumee is included in dispatch upgrade by Lucas County

2/7/2002

The Lucas County commissioners have approved the purchase of dispatching equipment for three suburban safety departments to allow them to better communicate with each other and the county's central dispatching facility in downtown Toledo.

The contract approved by commissioners is with Motorola, Inc., for $698,587, according to Dennis Cole, the county's director of emergency services. Mr. Cole said the equipment will improve the service at three dispatcher posts in Oregon and Maumee, and two in Ottawa Hills.
