Waterville native leads Panhellenic

Jackie Kirby of Waterville, a junior at Miami University at Oxford, Ohio, has been elected the Panhellenic Council president at the university, where she will now head the governing body for all women's Greek organizations.

She is a member of Kappa Delta sorority and a management information systems major. Ms. Kirby will be returning this summer to Milwaukee, Wis. for her second internship with GE Medical Systems.

A 1999 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kirby.

The Erie Shores Council, Boy Scouts of America, recently elected their officers at the annual meeting held Jan. 16.

The council president is Douglas Hayman, a 1969 Eagle Scout, who previously served as legal counsel to the Boy Scouts. He is a member of the city of Sylvania's municipal planning commission and a precinct chair for the city of Sylvania.

Other council officers are council commissioner Donald Mockensturm, Gregory Hendel, Dan Anderson, Thomas Blank, Richard Ball, Paul Croy, Charles Doneghy, Jeffery Gibbs, Jerry Jones, Hal Munger, and Richard Reynolds.

The Erie Shores Council serves over 21,000 families in Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, and Sandusky counties as well as the community of Swanton.
