FOSTORIA - Gambling charges were filed against a local sports club after several gambling machines were seized in a raid, a state agency said yesterday.

The Fostoria United Sportsman Club was issued two citations, charging eight counts of gambling. The Ohio Liquor Control Commission will consider the charges at a later date.

If found guilty, the club could be fined or its permit could be suspended or revoked.

Agents said they entered the club and observed people gambling with pull-tabs and playing electronic video gambling machines. Three of the machines were seized.

Also taken were numerous containers and boxes that contained gambling pull-tabs, other gambling materials, gambling pay-off records, and $2,029 in cash.
