CLYDE, Ohio - After more than two months, Clyde City Council has filled the vacancy in its ranks created by the death of Weldon "Pete" Rettig.
Scott Black, a longtime member of Clyde's recreation board, was appointed Tuesday night to replace Mr. Rettig, who died Jan. 28.
Mr. Rettig, who was 65, had won re-election in November to a term that runs through 2005.
Besides serving on the recreation board, Mr. Black, 51, sits on the board of the independent Clyde Country Fair, which the city holds each summer.
