GENOA, Ohio - The Ohio Highway Patrol yesterday identified the man who was killed Wednesday night when a pickup and a tractor-trailer rig collided at State Rt. 51 and State Rt. 163 in Ottawa County's Clay Township a half-mile east of here.

Calvin H. Knisel, 45, of 23720 Lime City Rd., Perrysburg Township, the driver of the pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Christopher Knisel, 5, of the same address, was in critical condition last night in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

Mario Sanchez, 54, of Elmore, driver of the semi, suffered minor injuries.

Mr. Knisel's pickup was westbound on Route 163 about 9:40 p.m. when it failed to stop for a red light and drove into the path of the tractor-trailer, which was southbound on Route 51., troopers said.

Upon impact, Mr. Knisel's pickup went off the west side of Route 51. Mr. Sanchez's truck also went off the west side of the road, struck a utility pole, and came to a rest in the intersection, troopers said.
