SANDUSKY - Police yesterday were investigating the death of an Erie County Humane Society official who was found dead in her home.

Debra Jensen's body was found Thursday morning after worried colleagues sent police there to check on her.

Police will not release details about how the 48-year-old woman was found. But they did call her death a homicide.

Sandusky Police Capt. Charlie Sams said officers have spent two days processing the crime scene and likely will be there throughout the weekend.

There have been no arrests.

“We're just pretty much following all the leads to see where they lead us,” he said.

He added that police were called to the home at about 10 a.m. Thursday.

Ms. Jensen worked as the Humane Society's shelter manager.

Her co-workers alerted police to the possibility that something was wrong when she didn't show up for work.

A woman contacted at the Humane Society yesterday said no one was ready to comment on Ms. Jensen's death.

Captain Sams said the autopsy report was not expected from the Lucas County coroner's office until today.
