ODOT awards road contracts

8/3/2002

Contracts for widening Eckel Junction Road west of Dixie Highway in Perrysburg and for resurfacing State Rt. 295 in southwestern Lucas County were awarded to a Maumee firm yesterday by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The S.E. Johnson Cos. bid of $2.05 million for the Eckel Junction contract was the lowest of five proposals, and its $1.22 million bid for the Route 295 contract was the lowest of three. Eckel Junction will be widened between Dixie (State Rt. 25) and Fort Meigs Road. Construction is scheduled to begin later this summer and be finished by next July 31.

Route 295 will be repaved from U.S. 24 in Providence Township to U.S. 20A/State Rt. 2 (Airport Highway) in Swanton Township. The project is scheduled to begin late this month or early next, and be finished by Oct. 31.
