LIMA, Ohio — A 34-year-old Lima man was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated robbery after he assaulted and stole about $600 from the manager of a Wendy's restaurant where he worked, according to the Allen County Sheriff's Office.

Stanley L. Mahoney was arrested about 12 hours after he allegedly robbed the 22-year-old manager at the restaurant, 2339 Elida Rd. Mr. Mahoney was being held in the Allen County jail.

Mr. Mahoney walked into the restaurant's office about 1:45 a.m. yesterday as the manager, Daniel Regan, was counting money. Mr. Mahoney asked for the cash.

The manager thought it was a joke until Mr. Mahoney hit him in the face and pulled a knife, sheriff's Sgt. Brian Winegardner said.

Mr. Mahoney fled. Officers found him about noon behind a movie theater on North Cable Road after getting a tip from a postal carrier, the sergeant said.
