Two men were hurt, one seriously, yesterday when a pickup and a van collided at Kingsbury Avenue and U.S. 24 in Maumee, police said.

Willard Dyer, the driver of the pickup who was pinned in the wreckage for a time, was in serious condition last night in the Medical College of Ohio Hospitals. His age and address were not released.

The driver of the van, whose identity was being withheld until his family was notified, refused medical treatment.

Mr. Dyer was southbound on Kingsbury about 4:30 p.m. when his truck was struck in the driver's side by the van, which was westbound on U.S. 24. The pickup then rolled over.

A Maumee firefighter, who was assisting the injured, collapsed at the scene. The firefighter, whose name was not released, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital. His condition was not considered to be serious, officials said.
