Tax OK'd on residents working outside North Baltimore

10/3/2002

NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio - Village council Tuesday approved a measure to tax residents who work outside the village.

Starting in November, residents who work outside the village will pay a 0.5 percent village income tax, said council member Bob Hartigan. In the past, residents working outside of North Baltimore only paid income tax to the city in which they worked.

Villagers who work inside the North Baltimore limits will continue paying a 1 percent income tax. Based on the year 2000 tax returns, the income tax will generate about $87,205 a year.
