Perrysburg extends sex-shop moratorium

10/16/2002

Perrysburg City Council last night tacked on 90 days to a moratorium that temporarily bars the opening of sexually oriented businesses, such as unlicensed massage parlors and adult cabarets in the city.

A six-month moratorium that expired yesterday was lengthened to give council more time to draft tighter restrictions on the businesses, including where they can locate, hours of operation, and inspection and licensing requirements.

The ban went into effect in April after some residents protested the opening of the New Health Spa, which operated briefly at 755 West South Boundary St. until the landlord forced its ouster.
