A hit-skip driver hit and hurt two women, including one who is pregnant, as they waited to cross Belmont Avenue yesterday, police said.

Kimberly Mitchell, 30, of Hyatt Lane, was in serious condition in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Pariss Sanders, 26, of Brand Whitlock Homes, was in fair condition in Toledo Hospital.

They crossed Collingwood Boulevard and were preparing to cross Belmont when they stopped for a car turning left from Collingwood onto Belmont about 12:30 a.m. The car made a wide turn and continued turning. The women tried to back up but were struck, police said.

The car continued on and hit a fence. The driver backed up and fled. The car was located in the Brand Whitlock complex, police said.
